* Khmer New Year 2020 at Asia Dragon

Oct 22, 2020

April 14, begins the first day (the 1st) of the traditional New Year's Day of the Khmer community. This Tet is called Chol Chnam Thmay by Khmer ethnic people, also known as Tet holiday, which takes place from April 14 to 16.

The Khmer ethnic community still thinks that this is the transition period between the two seasons: rainy, sunny, lush plants, rich nature, so they consider this as the starting point of a new year.

On the Chol Chnam Thmay New Year, all the ethnic minorities' fieldwork stops so that everyone can rest, play, entertain, and visit each other. The house is also decorated. The whole community helps each other to prepare glutinous rice to grind flour, beans of all kinds, banana leaves, coconut leaves to make fruit cakes such as banh Tet, a little cake, ... all carefully wrapped to worship Buddha and grandparents. ancestors and to receive guests during Tet.

This year Asia Dragon Company also organizes a program for Khmer friends who are working here:
